When you start one of these saws they can be pretty hard to turn over. The trick is to pull the cord out a little bit, then wait a few seconds for the compression to come back down. Then pull the starter cord again. The compression will have returned to the point where the saw will start. If you continue to have trouble after a few times, you may have a bad gasket that is causing a vacuum leak.
